EcoSynthetix Inc. applies intelligent design to renewable resources to create high-performance biobased products. Our products provide an enhanced performance window, cost benefits and an improved environmental footprint when compared to the products they replace.

For example, EcoSphere® is a biopolymer derived from the fundemental re-engineering of renewable resources ("new" carbon) into biopolymer nanoparticles. EcoSphere® biolatex products hav e been designed to have a positive impact on the environment. They provide novel binders with a neutral carbon footprint for the paper manufacturer. Petroleum-based SB and SA Latex binders, in contrast, contain only "old" carbon. For every 1 million lbs. of SB and SA Latex substituted by EcoSphere® biolatex, this intrinsically offers a reduction of 3.3 million pounds (1,515 metric tons) of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This provides the equivalent of eliminating CO2 emissions of approximately 400 cars. A 37.5% industry wide substitution level would reduce CO2 emissions by 2.27 million metric tons equating to 600,000 cars off the road.

EcoSynthetix is the recipient of national and international grants and subsidies, including USDA SBIR grants and an NIH grant for our innovative biobased technologies.
