Bio-Based Packaging Adhesives:

High Performance Corrugating Adhesives
EcoSphere™ High Performance Corrugating Adhesives have been designed to have their adhesive properties turned on 150°F – 170°F lower than conventional starches and require no additional chemicals. This permits significant energy reductions, while simultaneously allowing manufacturers to significantly increase line speeds and reduce both labor and scrap. In addition, the absence of caustic chemicals and lower operating temperatures result in improvements in health and safety for employees in corrugated board manufacturing. EcoSphere High Performance Corrugating Adhesives have instant tack and faster drying times than traditional starch adhesives.

At this time, samples of EcoSphere High-Performance Corrugating Adhesives are only available after execution of a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Material Transfer / Sampling Agreement.

Laminating Adhesives
EcoSphere™ Laminating Adhesives are positioned to replace polyvinyl acetate (PVA) laminating adhesives and provide packaging companies with a single adhesive product. This dramatically simplifies operations resulting in cost savings from inventory reductions and reduction in adhesive consumption.

At this time, samples of EcoSphere Laminating Adhesives are only available after execution of a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Material Transfer / Sampling Agreement.

General Packaging Adhesives
EcoSphere™ Packaging Adhesives are high performance adhesives developed with bio-based materials to address the need for more environmentally friendly adhesives. They are cost and price competitive, biodegradable and recyclable substitutes for petroleum based polyvinyl acetate (PVA) adhesives.

Bio-Based Building Blocks:

EcoMer™
EcoMer is a family of novel patented sugar-based macromers that are now available to polymer manufacturers as bio-based building blocks to create new waterborne sugar-acrylic adhesives and resins. The sugar used to produce EcoMer is derived from an annually renewable resource, such as glucose from corn starch. They are the first collection of harmless new monomers to be introduced to the adhesive industry in 20 years.

EcoMer Building Blocks can be produced at various viscosity levels, ranging from a resinous solid to a pumpable, 100% solids liquid. It can be chemically joined (copolymerized) to conventional acrylic building blocks (acrylic monomers) to create sugar-based copolymers for widespread applications including adhesives, inks and toners. Advantages of these new biosynthetic hybrid polymers include a broad spectrum of performance, true repulpability for paper recycling, low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and bio-based content. These new biosynthetic hybrid polymers can replace potentially damaging and non-renewable petrochemicals in many formulations and applications. EcoMer can also provide exciting opportunities to create entirely new bio-based products.

At this time, samples of EcoMer Bio-Based Building Blocks are only available after execution of a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Material Transfer / Sampling Agreement.
